Brookies Loses Lead Early In Defeat. Brookies watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 18-9 loss to Black Sox on Sunday. Black Sox scored on a double by Josh Hull in the first inning, a single by Marquise Zachery in the first inning, a double in the first inning, a single by Ben Claver in the first inning, a single by Zachery in the second inning, a error in the second inning, a single by Dallas Nelson in the second inning, and a home run by Claver in the second inning.
Brookies collected eight hits and Black Sox had 20 in the high-scoring affair. Black Sox took an early lead in the first inning. An error scored one run for Black Sox. Brookies scored four runs in the fourth inning. Brookies scored on a single by Josiah Lusby and a passed ball. Black Sox scored seven runs in the second inning. Black Sox’s big inning was driven by a single by Marquise Zachery, a error, a single by Dallas Nelson, and a home run by Ben Claver. Nelson earned the win for Black Sox. He pitched three and a third innings, allowing four runs, five hits, and striking out three. Ryan Meissner recorded the last 17 outs to earn the save for Black Sox. BJ Hinshaw took the loss for Brookies. He tossed eight and two-thirds innings, allowing 19 runs, 20 hits, and striking out three.
Nolan Biorn and Dan Kiecker each collected multiple hits for Brookies. Kiecker and Biorn each managed two hits to lead Brookies. Meissner, Claver, Josh Hull, Zachery, Josh Darling, Tyler Darling, and Nelson each collected multiple hits for Black Sox.
Cubs defeated Warriors 17-8 on Saturday thanks in part to Brian Mueller, who drove in five runners. Mueller drove in runs on a triple in the fifth and a double in the eighth. Both offenses were strong at the plate as Cubs collected 18 hits and Warriors 10. Cubs captured the lead in the second inning. Reese Layton singled on a 0-1 count in the second inning, scoring one run.
After Warriors scored one run in the top of the fourth, Cubs answered with one of their own. Warriors scored when there was an error, scoring one run. Cubs then answered when Andrew Romans singled, driving in one run. Cubs took the lead for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third Jake Boehler doubled, driving in one run, Adam Boehler tripled, driving in one run, James Davisson singled, driving in one run, and Layton singled, driving in one run. Cubs scored seven runs in the fifth inning. The big inning was thanks to a triple by Brian Mueller, a single by Romans, and a double by Boehler.
Warriors scored four runs in the sixth inning. The big inning for Warriors came thanks to a single by Brandon Dove, a single by Lane, and a error.
Boehler earned the win for Cubs. He pitched five innings, allowing two runs, four hits, striking out seven, and walking zero.
Romans, Daniel Busch, Ian Burke, Layton, Boehler, Mueller, and Boehler each collected multiple hits for Cubs. Mueller and Boehler each drove in five runs to lead Cubs.
John and Lane each collected multiple hits for Warriors.

We will still be holding tryouts today. The weather looks like it it warm up enough to get the snow melted off. With that said we will being moving the tryouts to Kirk Park and asking guys to show up at 2:00pm. Here are the directions in case you don’t know where the fields are located
