Cubs Grabs Lead In Seventh Inning For Victory Over Black Sox
Cubs took the lead late in the game in a 5-3 victory over Black Sox on Saturday. The game was tied at three with Cubs batting in the bottom of the seventh when Adam Boehler doubled off of Dallas Nelson, driving in two runs. The game was cut short in the middle of the 8th due to rain, with the Cubs taking the win
Black Sox took an early lead in the first inning. Black Sox scored two runs when Marquise Zachery doubled with one out in the first inning.
Cubs evened things up at three in the bottom of the fourth inning. With two outs in the fourth inning Ian Burke drove in one run when he singled.
Cubs scored three runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was thanks to a triple by Bret Magelssen, a triple by Reese Layton, and a single by Burke.
Jake Boehler earned the win for Cubs. He tossed seven innings, surrendering three runs, five hits, and striking out nine. Dallas Nelson took the loss for Black Sox. He went seven innings, surrendering five runs, 12 hits, and striking out four.
